Über ONMOTIO
ONMOTIO is a product design and engineering studio based in London, working with startups, established companies and independent inventors who are developing physical products. Since 2017 the studio has worked on more than 150 hardware projects, and more than 50 of the products it helped create are now on sale in the US, Canada, Europe and Australia.
One team covers the whole development path: industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics integration, prototyping, design for manufacturing, and the renders and animations used to launch a product. Prototypes and small batches are built in our workshops in Brazil and North America, so each design is tested on real parts before tooling.
Projects run in phases, each ending with a defined deliverable and a decision on the next step. Recent work includes the eXalt SOLO light sport aircraft, the KORU air purifier, funded at over 1000% on Indiegogo, and the Glow Saunas range. Products designed by the studio were named CES Innovation Awards Honorees in 2020 and 2021.

Beschreibung
The eXalt SOLO is a single-seat, high-performance personal aircraft built as a kit. ONMOTIO created the eXalt Aircraft brand identity and led the design and structural development of the aircraft, from the first sketches to the bolt-together airframe and the renders used with investors.
Lösung
More than 60 concept sketches led to the final form and its Class A surfaces. We engineered an aluminium frame with carbon fibre skins, a chromoly steel spaceframe, an optimised spar and carry-through structure, and a modular bolt-together construction with removable composite panels for maintenance. We also built the brand identity and produced renders and animations for investor and marketing materials.
Ergebnisse
The modular design allows full assembly in about 40 hours without specialised tools, and damaged parts can be replaced without professional repairs.

Team
ONMOTIO was founded in 2017 by Clément Simon and Izek Therrien. The studio grew out of work on aviation, automotive and high-performance products, and was built around one idea: a company developing a physical product should be able to go from first sketch to a manufacturable design with a single team.
Today a core team of nine covers industrial design, mechanical engineering, electronics integration, prototyping and product visualisation. The studio is based in London, and its workshops in Brazil and North America build the prototypes and small batches that let each design be tested on real parts before tooling.
